Circus Peanuts

For some odd reason, when I printed up this digi stamp from Bugaboo it made me think of those orange marshmallow circus peanuts that are 200% sugar but so yummy they are addictive.    I have fond memories of my son and I totally decimating a bag of those wonderful sweet treats in record time.   And since I couldn't get the thought of that sugar out of my head (I must have been hungry) I printed the image in orange so I could paper piece Dad and Son making them into scrumptious calorie laden but fat free circus nuts.  Now that I'm thinking about it........ I could make another card to give to my son for Father's Day with a bag a nice fresh bag of circus peanuts.   And I'll buy an extra bag for me.  (That will help me fit in my bathing suit. Not!!!)
For now, here's the Father's Day Card I made.  Guess it could be used as a birthday card too, depending on what you put inside, or just a card to tell Dad you love him.

Since this is a Bugaboo digi, I am entering this in  Bugaboo Stamp's Catch the Bug Challenge - June Anything Goes,

CTMH Card Class 6/4/13

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood......
so I ripped down curtains in 3 rooms and headed for those monster washers at the laundromat.  They are hanging on the line drying as I type.  But I can't be here long because now I have to go wash the cruddy windows that were behind said curtains.  What was I thinking????

Yesterday was card class at Joyce's.  We made some lovely cards, as always.

Thought I'd quickly post this card, too( another red hat card using iris folding, tiny triple decker punched flowers, red feather, ribbon and embossed BG paper).
Missing everyone who didn't make yesterday's afternoon class - you KNOW who you are!

I'll add this card to the following challenges:
(and then I'm going to wash those windows, because they aren't gonna wash themselves)

Tammy's Scrappin Corner Challenge # 65- Anything Goes with Extra Texture

and the color combination for Dynamic Duos #55

other challenges I'm entering include:
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes

Make it Monday #143 with Kenny K - Anything Goes

Thank you Michelle

The other day I asked Michelle Perkett if she had ever considered adding a fancy feathered hat to her digi images.  And today on Michelle's blog, she has posted a lovely feathered hat.
Thank you so much, Michelle!
I just couldn't wait to use it.
The Muse Challenge posted  their new challenge card yesterday

and I thought it would be perfect for the hat, or for 3 hats.  I reduced the digi  image to 40%, copied it 3 times and printed it up.  I love how you can do that with digis. I scored the white CS above and below the hats, colored them with alcohol markers, added some bling, the ribbon and a sentiment.  Voila!

(The dark plum paper is showing up awfully blue on my computer screen, and the flowers are a light mauve.)  And I think that ribbon might need a hat pin.  What do you think?)

I will be entering this in the following challenges (after I make dinner):
Muse Challenge # 20 (see Muse card above)

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #184 - The Cafe Presents 'Smoke & Sky'

Robyn's Fetish Challenge - #162 - Use a Digi

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #104 - No Patterned Paper

Craft Your Passion Challenge #165 - Haberdashery Items

Mojo Monday once again

Making today's Mojo Monday card was a Dream because I used the Dream Pop Paper I just got from Close to My Heart.

I followed the sketch pretty closely today.

Needless to say, I am entering this in the Mojo Monday Challenge #296 which is always sponsored by Verve Stamps.
Other challenges into which I am entering this card include:
In The Pink - Challenge # 21 - Anything Goes...as long as it's pink

Can anyone tell me what I leaned on on my keyboard to make all the printing on the screen miniscule?  More importantly - how do I undo it?
Have a nice day everyone!

Why don't I get blueberries?

Maybe 10 years ago I put in a dozen strawberry plants and I now have a lovely strawberry bed yielding enough strawberries for us to eat and plenty to give away.  Once they got established I got a pair of patio blueberry bushes.  They had been on my patio for years and yielded less than a dozen blueberries between the 2 plants.  I had such luck with those I ordered 3 of the pink lemonade blueberry bushes.  Haven't seen a pink blueberry yet!  I thought maybe they were pot bound so I moved them into the ground.  My daughter said blueberries needed iron to grow, so I gave each plant a rusty nail.  The plants look healthy enough, but no berries.  And why am I telling you about my disappointing blueberry plants?  I have no clue other than to introduce this card.

This cute little mouse nestled in a bowl of blueberries is a digi from Doodle Pantry.  I sized the digi for the card and printed 2 copies, so I could cut pieces  (in this case the bowl and the extra berries on the table) and pop them for a 3D effect, hence the shadows in the photo.

Other than that, it's a fairly simple card.  I used a scalloped circle punch for the sentiment and a border punch for the strip in the center.

Think I'll squeek this little guy into the following challenges:
Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge #35 - Anything Goes
Fab N Funky Challenge #173 - For the Girls
Perfect Sentiments Challenge #81 - Make Them Laugh
Songbird Challenge #21 - All Creatures Great and Small

Birthday Buggy

I had a few leftover scraps from my previous card.  I chopped them into squares, glued the squares to kraft paper, embossed it, and then drug the edges through my cocoa ink pad to make the distressed background for this great Penny Black stamp. I knew I had to have this stamp the moment I first saw it.  And the set came with great sentiment stamps, too.  Here it is stamped on kraft paper and fussy cut.

I'll be entering this card in the following challenges:
Penny Black Saturday Challenge June - Masculine
Alphabet Challenge - H is for Happy
Brown Sugar Challenge Blog #44 - Masculine Birthday
Card Makin Mamas Challenge #70- Rubber Stamps
Creative Corner Challenges # 21 - Boy oh Boy

Craft Room Challenge - Use Your Scraps
